The Pokémon’s story

Aegislash has accompanied generations of rulers. According to tradition, its psychic powers allow it to discern the qualities of a future monarch. Legends even say that receiving its favour foretells a reign. Yet it has not always been content to advise: the Pokédex relates that it controlled humans and Pokémon to shape a country according to its own ideas. Its steel body and psychic barrier protect it as it exercises this influence.

Pokémon Shield credits Aegislash with creating a country that matched its ideals by controlling living beings. Pokémon Y reports a different belief: it is said to recognise in a soul the qualities of a king or queen.
