The Pokémon’s story

Azelf is called the Being of Willpower in Pokédex accounts. It is said to sleep at the bottom of a lake to preserve the world's balance. A tradition links it with Uxie and Mesprit: the three supposedly emerged from one egg, without the entry presenting this origin as an observation. In Hisui, legends attribute a more troubling power to it, bending an opponent's will until they become a puppet. These stories give its sleep significance beyond the lake's shores.
