CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Gardevoir can sense danger before it becomes visible. The Pokédex credits it with seeing the future and links this ability to protecting a Trainer to whom it is attached. Its power reaches its peak when it tries to defend them. This bond gives its abilities a purpose: foresee a threat, then respond on someone else's behalf, even at the risk of its own life.

A detail worth noticing

To defend its Trainer, Gardevoir can expend its mental power to the point of creating a small black hole, according to Pokémon Shield. This detail shows the scale of the risk it accepts to protect someone. The Pokédex presents this as an exceptional ability; it should not be confused with the attacks printed on all of its cards.
