The Pokémon’s story

Nacli was born deep underground in a layer of rock salt. As it moves, it rubs its body against the ground and leaves salt behind. Its supply continually renews itself internally. In the past, humans valued this species greatly because it shared this precious resource. The Pokédex thus connects its mineral origin, the traces it leaves while moving and the interest it has long inspired.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Violet notes that salt lost by Nacli constantly replenishes inside its body. Pokémon Scarlet places its birth in an underground rock-salt layer and recalls that people once sought it for the salt it could offer.
