The Pokémon’s story

Toedscruel forms colonies with others of its kind deep in forests. These groups do not tolerate outsiders approaching. When it captures prey, it coils its ten tentacles around it and drains its nutrients. The Pokédex also describes the folds around the edge of its head as a sought-after delicacy. Its forest life therefore combines territorial defense, a distinctive way of attacking and a body part that itself attracts others' appetite.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Violet counts ten tentacles on Toedscruel and notes that it uses them to extract nutrients from prey. The same entry says its head folds are prized as food. Pokémon Scarlet places its colonies deep in forests.
