CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Golurk is said to have been built in a distant age to serve humans and Pokémon. Ancient castles even had openings through which it could fire energy beams. It moves with surprising speed for such a massive body, but the seal on its chest remains essential to keeping it under control. Stories warn that breaking this seal would make it uncontrollable. The precise origin of the force animating it also remains uncertain.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield mentions a possible internal perpetual-motion mechanism in Golurk, while explaining that nobody has proved it. This qualification matters: here the Pokédex distinguishes a hypothesis about its energy from an established fact about how it functions.
