CARDEX BACKGROUND
Koffing floats thanks to the light gases accumulated inside its body. It frequents rubbish dumps, attracted by decaying waste, then mixes toxins and refuse to produce a dangerous gas. When it becomes agitated, toxicity increases and it may expel the mixture through openings in its body. Heat makes these contents unstable, to the point of causing an explosion. Its round silhouette therefore conceals a fragile balance between what it swallows, the temperature and the gases keeping it aloft.
This account describes the species in the video games. It does not describe its Trainer’s history or that of this copy, and does not identify the depicted form or sex.Pokémon Alpha Sapphire states that the warmer the air, the more gas Koffing produces. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! warns that this heat can also make its body unstable and cause an explosion. The danger does not come solely from its toxicity.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
