CARDEX BACKGROUND
Vespiquen shelters its young in its abdomen like a living honeycomb. The larvae receive nectar gathered by Combee there. In battle, it directs them through pheromones; the more it releases, the more young respond to its orders. The Pokédex describes a closely connected group in which the queen protects and feeds its offspring while also using them in defense.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Shield connects the number of Combee directed by Vespiquen with the amount of pheromones it emits. Pokémon Y places their nectar-fed larvae inside its abdomen. Chemical communication thus organizes a group raised very close to the queen.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
