CARDEX BACKGROUND
Aurorus was brought back to life from a fossil. The diamond-shaped crystals on its body produce extremely cold air: it can raise an ice wall to stop an attack or envelop an opponent when angry. Despite this power, the Pokédex usually describes it as calm and kindly. It is also said that its cry makes auroras appear in the night sky. Its usual gentleness therefore contrasts with the formidable cold it can release.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Ultra Sun reports the notable discovery of an Aurorus preserved whole in a glacier. Pokémon Ultra Moon estimates its surface temperature at around −151 °C. Pokémon Sword presents the connection between its cry and auroras as a tradition rather than a proven observation.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
