CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Skorupi waits for prey buried in sand. Once close enough, it uses the poisonous claws on its tail to strike. Venom then spreads through the victim's body and can paralyze it. The Pokédex also notes shared ancestors with Sizzlipede. This relationship does not change Skorupi's described method: a patient ambush followed by a precise tail attack rather than an exposed pursuit.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword places Skorupi in ambush beneath sand and mentions common ancestry with Sizzlipede. Pokémon Shield specifies the result of its attack: poison injected by its tail claws paralyzes the victim.
