CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Armaldo belongs to a prehistoric lineage that moved from water onto dry land. Its hind legs strengthened, but it retained great swimming ability. It still dives to hunt, armed with two claws capable of piercing a steel plate. Tough armor and a powerful tail complete this equipment. The Pokédex thus shows it between two environments: established on land, it returns to the sea to find prey.

A detail worth noticing

Omega Ruby credits Armaldo's claws with the strength to pierce a steel plate. Pokémon Shield specifies that it also hunts underwater despite its terrestrial life. Pokémon Ultra Moon places it among possible ancestors of certain Bug-type Pokémon.
