CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Turtonator inhabits volcanoes and feeds on sulphur and minerals. These substances strengthen its shell, covered in explosive materials that it uses to repel attacks with violent blasts. This armour remains vulnerable in rain: moisture affects it and drives it to shelter in a cave. Even the hollow in its stomach is a weak point. The Pokédex thus describes a dangerous defender whose power depends closely on its diet and the weather.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Moon reports that Turtonator’s droppings are explosive too. Yet Pokémon Ultra Moon emphasises that moisture weakens its shell. In its volcanic habitat, almost everything about it seems unstable, but a simple rainy day changes its behaviour.
