CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Sandy Shocks remains difficult to pin down in Pokédex descriptions. Scarlet states that no captures are recorded and data is lacking, but compares its traits with a creature in an expedition journal. Violet mentions a slight resemblance to a Magneton supposedly alive for ten thousand years, presented in a paranormal magazine. This great age belongs to the magazine's story; it is not an established date for Sandy Shocks.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
The ten thousand years associated with Sandy Shocks comes from a paranormal article about a supposedly ancient Magneton. Violet's entry does not say Sandy Shocks is that old: it notes only a slight resemblance to the described creature.
