CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Farfetch'd always keeps a plant stalk nearby. It can distinguish suitable ones, uses them to build its nest and may even fight another individual to obtain a better one. In battle, it wields the stalk like a sword; if circumstances demand it, the stalk also becomes food. According to some entries, places where its plant grows are rare. Its life therefore depends on an object that is a tool, weapon and resource at once.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield mentions several schools of stalk-wielding among Farfetch'd. Pokémon Omega Ruby says individuals quarrel over good stalks. This familiar vegetable is therefore not interchangeable: choosing it matters as much as knowing how to use it.
