CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cofagrigus resembles a richly decorated coffin. It can remain still to attract a careless grave robber, then trap them inside. The oldest accounts even credit it with turning a victim into a mummy; the Pokédex reports this story without offering proof. Its golden body also appears on the walls of ancient royal tombs as a symbol of wealth. Behind the shine of gold remains an unsettling guardian of burial places.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield says Cofagrigus appears on the walls of ancient royal tombs. Pokémon White describes its coffin-like appearance as a trap for plunderers. Its image could therefore evoke both a tomb's wealth and the danger awaiting an intruder.
