CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

At the end of winter, schools of Goldeen travel upstream to spawn. Their arrival traditionally marks the return of spring. Their fins ripple like a dress in the water, but also help sustain fast swimming. The beauty of this silhouette attracts some Trainers, while Goldeen themselves compete through the size and sharpness of their horns. Behind the elegance of the spectacle therefore lies a season of travel and competition.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon gives Goldeen the nickname “Water Princess” because of its fins. Yet Pokémon Shield measures its swimming speed at five knots. Its dancer-like appearance therefore does not prevent sustained movement.
