CARDEX BACKGROUND

The role of this Energy

Draw Energy provides one Colorless Energy, then adds a small reward at the moment of attachment. If you attach it from your hand to a Pokémon, you draw a card. The effect links preparing an attack with a new possibility in your hand without guaranteeing what the card will be. Timing and origin are essential: its text specifies attachment from the hand, not Energy already in play or a transfer from another zone.

Background on this Special Energy’s effect; the printed text, edition and finish of each card remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

Two printings of Draw Energy repeat the same trigger: attachment from the hand. The card then remains Colorless Energy. Drawing a card is therefore an event tied to its arrival, not an effect that repeats every turn.
