CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Staravia populates fields and forests in large flocks. This grouping answers individual weakness: separated from others, it squawks loudly. Yet group life does not guarantee peace. When two flocks meet, they contest territory, and fights between Staravia can become very violent. The Pokédex thus tells of a bird seeking safety among its own while joining collective confrontations as soon as space becomes scarce.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Black describes Staravia crying when alone, while Pokémon Y places conflicts between flocks in fields and forests. Its voice can therefore signal an individual's isolation as well as the disturbance of contested territory.
