CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Larvesta lives near volcanoes and responds to threats by shooting fire from its five horns. Its heat is so remarkable that ancient people imagined a solar origin: some traditions said it was born from the sun or fell from it. The Pokédex reports this belief without presenting it as fact. When evolution comes, Larvesta wraps its body in flames it produces itself. Fire therefore accompanies its defence, legend and transformation.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun attributes temperatures of up to 3,000°C to the flames from Larvesta’s five horns. Pokémon Ultra Moon reminds readers that its supposed nest in the sun was an ancient belief. Its stated heat and the account of its origin are not the same kind of claim.
