CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Heliolisk opens its frill to capture sunlight and generate electricity. This energy does more than power discharges: it stimulates its leg muscles so it can run very fast. The traditions of an ancient desert kingdom even gave it a respected place. Later, Heliolisk are said to have reached Galar in a shipment of precious stones. The Pokédex thus connects its solar power with a history of human travel and desert lands.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Y credits Heliolisk with running a hundred metres in five seconds through electrical stimulation of its legs. Pokémon Shield states that a single individual, with its frill spread in sunlight, can produce enough electricity to power a large city.
