CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Baltoy moves by spinning on one foot and can keep turning even when it ends up on its head. It still balances while asleep. Very old depictions of Pokémon resembling it have been found in caves and ruins, but they do not tell its whole story. Whenever it encounters other Baltoy, it joins them with shrill cries. The Pokédex therefore connects its solitary movement with ancient traces and noisy gatherings.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes Baltoy sleeping upright, balanced on its single foot. Pokémon X explains that it can even keep spinning on its head. These abilities make its shape less static than it may look in an illustration.
