CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Lumineon crawls along the ocean floor using its ventral fins. In these depths where food is scarce, it particularly seeks Starmie and may quarrel with Lanturn over prey. Its glowing fins attract other creatures, but not always the ones it wanted to catch: predatory fish also follow their light. The Pokédex shows a hunter forced to manage both the scarcity of prey and the risk of being seen.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sun explains that Lumineon's light attracts both prey and its own predators. Pokémon Ultra Sun places its rivalry with Lanturn for food in the depths. Its glow helps it hunt without making this strategy risk-free.
