Énergie Obscurité

CARDEX BACKGROUND

The role of this Energy

In these printings, Darkness Energy provides one Darkness Energy. Its other effect adds ten damage to an attack by the attached Pokémon against the opponent's Active Pokémon before Weakness and Resistance. The bonus requires the attacker to be Darkness type or have 'Dark' in its name. A Pokémon's name can therefore matter as much as its printed type for this rule. Attaching the Energy to another Pokémon does not automatically activate the additional damage.

A detail worth noticing

The text in these sets names two ways to obtain the ten extra damage: being Darkness type or having 'Dark' in the name. The condition applies to the attacker, not simply to the Energy being present on the field.
