CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Kangaskhan raises her young in her belly pouch and never truly strays far from it. Even when it comes out to play, its mother watches closely. If danger appears, she may rush into battle without hesitation. This protectiveness does not stop her moving quickly: her legs remain agile despite the weight she carries. The Pokédex thus describes strength devoted entirely to keeping a young Pokémon safe while it still depends on her.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Records mentioned in Pokémon Shield state that some Kangaskhan without young have raised human children in distress. The Pokédex presents these cases as accounts, without giving a place or date. This anecdote extends her protective instinct beyond her own species.
