CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Rugged Helmet takes effect if its holder is your Active Pokémon and takes damage from an opponent's attack, even if that damage Knocks it Out. It returns an Energy attached to the attacking Pokémon to your opponent's hand. The Tool therefore responds to an incoming attack by removing Energy, without sending the chosen resource to the discard pile.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

The Energy goes back to your opponent's hand, which distinguishes it from a destroyed or lost resource. The choice concerns the attacking Pokémon: the effect does not remove Energy from a different opposing Pokémon.

Printed card effect
