CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Rare Candy chooses one of your Basic Pokémon in play and places a matching Stage 2 card from your hand onto it. This placement counts as evolving. The Item skips the intermediate stage without allowing arbitrary Pokémon pairings. It remains forbidden during your first turn and on a Basic Pokémon that has just entered play that same turn.

A detail worth noticing

This Rare Candy wording specifies that placing the Stage 2 card constitutes evolution. It retains two timing prohibitions: your first turn and a Basic Pokémon that entered play during the turn. The evolution match must always be respected.

Printed card effect
