The Pokémon’s story
Fuecoco settles on warm rocks to gather energy. Its square scales absorb heat, which it converts into fire energy. Sitting still in the sun can conceal an essential activity. The little Pokémon appears simply to be enjoying a pleasant spot, but this apparent rest helps build its reserves through direct contact with the warm landscape around it.

Fuecoco's flame sac is small, according to Pokémon Violet. Energy continually escapes through the hollow at the top of its head, where it flickers. This visible display therefore corresponds to a leak from its internal reserve.
