CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Plusle supports its partners during battles. As soon as an ally makes a good move, it short-circuits its own body to send up sparks like a cheerleader's pom-poms. It also draws energy from power poles. If the battle goes badly, its enthusiasm gives way to tears. The Pokédex therefore describes more than its electrical abilities: it shows a Pokémon responding to others' successes and setbacks.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby notes that Plusle creates its own sparks by short-circuiting its body to congratulate a partner. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire says it cries if that partner loses. Its discharges thus communicate encouragement, rather than serving only to attack.

Abilities

Chain of Events

Poke-BODY

As long as Plusle is your Active Pokémon, whenever your other Active Pokémon, if any, attacks, you may use Cheer On after the first attack (you still need the necessary Energy to use Cheer On). You can't use Cheer On more than once in this way even if your other Active Pokémon has the Chain of Events Poké-Body.

Attacks

Cheer On

Cost: Colorless

Remove 1 damage counter from each of your Pokémon (including Plusle).

Extra Circuit

Cost: Lightning · Colorless

Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 20 damage to that Pokémon. If you choose Pokémon-ex, this attack does 40 damage instead. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)
