CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Timburr keeps a wooden beam with it and readily visits building sites to help workers. It grows by lifting increasingly heavy loads; when it effortlessly handles a beam far heavier than itself, evolution is near. Rain interrupting work makes it angry. The Pokédex thus presents a young Pokémon that measures progress through concrete tasks and shares part of its life with human builders.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield says a beam three times heavier than Timburr signals that evolution is near. Pokémon Sword describes it brandishing its beam when rain stops construction work. Work therefore serves both as training and as a marker of growth.
