CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Kricketot brings its antennae together to produce sounds. Their collision resembles a small musical instrument, but these notes primarily serve to communicate with its own kind. The calls become especially prominent when trees change color. In Hisui's accounts, their tone is compared with a marimba from distant lands. A simple antenna movement thus forms a seasonal language people can hear without seeing the Pokémon hidden among the trees.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon X associates Kricketot's sounds with autumn and communication with other individuals. Pokémon Y compares them with a xylophone. Pokémon Legends: Arceus chooses another musical comparison, the marimba, when trees take on new colors.
