CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Eternatus is said to have traveled to Galar inside a meteorite that fell twenty thousand years ago. The core on its chest lets it absorb energy emerging from the region's ground; this energy keeps it active. The Pokédex also suggests a possible connection with the Dynamax phenomenon without presenting it as certain. Its history thus links an origin in space with dependence on Galar's energy, while the exact extent of its influence remains unresolved.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Shield dates the fall of the meteorite containing Eternatus to around 20,000 years ago. The same entry says a connection with Dynamax seems to exist; it does not confirm it. Pokémon Sword more directly describes the energy from Galar's ground absorbed by its chest core.
