CARDEX BACKGROUND
Ancient records call Lunala the being that calls the moon. It continually absorbs surrounding light to turn it into energy, then can take on the appearance of the full moon and illuminate the night. The Pokédex also mentions breaches through which it brings unknown creatures or forces. Its origin is told cautiously: some entries describe it as a mysterious being said to come from another world.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.Pokémon Shield explains that Lunala gathers light to take the form of the full moon. Pokémon Ultra Moon credits it with opening passages to other dimensions. Its accounts thus connect a visible phenomenon in the sky with a power to cross between worlds.
Quoted source text is retained in the card’s printed language so this exact printing can be identified. The CarDex background above is translated into English.
