Energia Metal Básica

CARDEX BACKGROUND

The role of this Energy

A basic Metal Energy helps meet the cost of an attack marked with the Metal symbol. The Sun & Moon—Ultra Prism rulebook highlights the endurance often associated with Pokémon of this type. That resilience nevertheless comes from the Pokémon cards and their effects, rather than a shield automatically granted by every Metal Energy. The catalogue therefore distinguishes basic Energy cards without effect text from older printings of the same name that have a special rule.

A detail worth noticing

During the Diamond & Pearl era, Pokémon presented a basic Metal Energy as a new addition. Older versions bearing the same name could reduce damage through their own text. This historical detail explains why a printing’s effect should be read before it is classified as a basic card.
