CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Lokix usually keeps a third pair of legs folded. When it wants to fight with all its strength, it deploys them and adopts a mode that lets it neutralize opponents quickly. This surge in effectiveness has a cost: the stance places a heavy strain on its body and cannot last long. The Pokédex therefore describes a time-limited battle decision. Lokix concentrates its power into a brief moment, then must abandon this demanding position.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet calls this deployment Showdown Mode and connects it with rapid victories. Pokémon Violet reveals the constraint: using its third pair of legs strains Lokix so much that it cannot maintain this form for long.
