The Pokémon’s story

Dudunsparce digs its refuge deep underground. Its hard tail lets it bore through bedrock and open a tunnel that may extend for several kilometers. If an intruder enters this narrow nest, it fills its long lungs with air before driving the intruder out with a violent blast. The Pokédex shows a body adapted to two complementary tasks: building a home in stone and protecting this underground passage without pursuing the enemy outside.

Pokémon Scarlet gives Dudunsparce's tunnel a possible length of more than six miles, about 9.7 kilometers. Pokémon Violet describes its defense: it inhales enough air to fill its long, narrow lungs, then releases it in one powerful burst.
