CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Coalossal is described as peaceful as long as its mines are not plundered. If humans try to seize them, it becomes enraged and releases scorching flames. In battle, the coal on its body glows red, then sparks break away and consume its surroundings. The Pokédex thus makes its danger depend on the situation: calm in its mines, it becomes a source of destructive heat when they are threatened or it enters a fight.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Sword gives the flames Coalossal projects when its mines are plundered a temperature of 1,500°C. Pokémon Shield describes another warning sign: the coal on its body turns red and releases sparks during battle.
