CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Cacturne remains still during scorching hours to limit water loss. At night, when the desert cools, it hunts. Groups then follow travelers and wait until they are too tired to defend themselves. The Pokédex describes a patient predator adapted to aridity: it saves strength by day to exploit the weakness of those still walking after sunset.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby connects Cacturne's daytime stillness with desert dryness. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire describes its collective hunt against exhausted travelers. Its chosen moment to attack therefore responds to its own survival as much as its prey's fatigue.
