CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Porygon was created from computer programs. It can convert its body into data to enter cyberspace, where it is sometimes used to detect suspicious information. Its designers also dreamed of seeing it travel into space, but the Pokédex explains that this aim has never been achieved. Its story therefore follows two directions: success in digital worlds and a physical travel project that remains beyond its reach.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Omega Ruby states that Porygon can return to program form and resists illegal copying. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! adds that no Porygon has yet completed the space journey its creators hoped for.
