The Pokémon’s story

Stakataka can pass for a pile of stones or a section of wall. The encounter becomes more disturbing when this mass begins moving and attacking. The Pokédex connects it with Ultra Beasts that appeared through an Ultra Wormhole and suggests that its body brings together many stacked living beings. This composition remains phrased as an appearance rather than definitively established anatomy. Beneath its mineral camouflage, Stakataka therefore combines two mysteries: an alien origin and a possibly collective identity.

Pokémon Ultra Sun describes Stakataka as though formed from multiple stacked organisms. Pokémon Ultra Moon begins with a more concrete sight: stone walls suddenly moving to attack. Both entries present it as a mysterious Ultra Beast.
