The Pokémon’s story
Banette is said to have been born from an abandoned stuffed toy whose filling became infused with cursed energy. Resentment drives it to search for its former owner. To prepare its curses, it sticks needles into its own body; opening its mouth would reportedly let the energy held inside escape. Yet the Pokédex adds a less sombre possibility: if someone takes great care of this doll, it might return to its original form.
