CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Klefki loves keys enough to collect them, although no one knows exactly why. The appendage on its head inserts into metal to extract ions, its food. When resources in its former mines dwindled, it moved closer to villages. It readily accepts certain keys and fiercely protects those entrusted to it. The Pokédex thus connects its unusual silhouette to a migration toward human-made objects.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Sun notes that Klefki does not accept just any offered key: it prefers master keys. Pokémon Sword adds that it fiercely defends an important key placed in its care. Its taste for collecting can therefore become a form of service.
