CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Dewpider mainly lives underwater but can come onto land with its head in a bubble inflated using its abdomen. The oxygen it breathes is inside. It uses the bubble to attack prey or a predator with a water jet. When two Dewpider meet, they compare bubble sizes, and the less imposing one gives way. The Pokédex turns vital equipment into a sign of rank between individuals.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon explains that Dewpider's bubble holds the oxygen it needs on land. Pokémon Ultra Sun recounts meetings where two individuals compare its size. The same object therefore serves breathing and managing social interactions.
