CARDEX BACKGROUND
The Pokémon’s story
Dunsparce burrows backwards using the tip of its tail as a drill. Underground, it builds a nest so complex that it resembles a maze, yet never gets lost because it recognises the soil’s scent. It sometimes shares tunnels with Diglett. As soon as a human sees it, it may disappear into a hole. Its small wings prompt hypotheses about an ancient ability to fly, but its present life is mainly underground.
Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.A detail worth noticing
Pokémon Ultra Sun describes Dunsparce sharing tunnels with Diglett. Pokémon Shield explains that it does not get lost in its own maze because it recognises the earth’s scent. This sense matters more than its small wings in its present-day movements.
