CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Victreebel attracts prey with the sweet scent emerging from its mouth. The fragrance resembles honey but conceals a highly corrosive acid. The long vine on its head moves like a small animal to draw the victim closer, before Victreebel swallows it whole. Its juices can dissolve even the hard parts of a meal. The Pokédex builds a portrait of a hunting plant whose every pleasant invitation is actually preparing a trap.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu says Victreebel can digest an entire prey, bones included, in a day. Pokémon Black notes that the honey scent comes from an acidic liquid. Its lure and digestive tool are therefore not two separate substances.
