CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Houndstone spends much of its time sleeping in graveyards. A tradition says it was born anew after a departed Pokémon was mourned with affection. The Pokédex presents it as particularly loyal to its master. It nevertheless protects the protrusion on its head and dislikes anyone touching it. Its quiet habits and loyalty thus accompany a story of mourning without the belief in its rebirth being presented as certain.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Scarlet often places Houndstone asleep in graveyards and calls it extremely loyal to its master. Pokémon Violet adds that it will not allow its head protrusion to be touched. Its origin as a Pokémon reborn from mourning remains a reported tradition.
