CARDEX BACKGROUND

The story behind this Trainer card

Super Potion heals sixty damage from one of your Pokémon. If it actually healed damage this way, you discard an Energy from that Pokémon. The Item links resource loss to healing performed on the same target. It does not demand Energy from another Pokémon or from your hand.

Background on this Trainer card’s printed effect; its edition, language and finish remain distinct.

A detail worth noticing

This wording explicitly makes the discard conditional on damage being healed. Target selection is not restricted to the Active Spot, but the spent Energy must be attached to the Pokémon you have just healed.
