CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Arctozolt's frozen upper body shivers and generates electricity through those tremors. This mechanism contrasts with its difficult movements. The Pokédex says it once lived on shores and stored food in the ice of its body. That reserve did not compensate for its slowness: difficulty moving is given as the cause of its disappearance. Cold therefore let it preserve food without solving its mobility problem.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Shield describes Arctozolt's ice as a place to preserve food on ancient shores. Sword assigns it a second role: shivering in its frozen upper body generates electricity despite its considerable difficulty walking.
