CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Corsola lives in groups in the warm, clean southern seas. Its branches shelter small Pokémon, but also attract Mareanie, which pursues it to eat them. To escape, Corsola can detach a branch and use the distraction. Its branches regrow, while pollution discolors and weakens them. The Pokédex thus connects survival with two very different conditions: repairing damage from a predator and maintaining water healthy enough for growth.

A detail worth noticing

Omega Ruby states that a broken Corsola branch can regrow overnight; Pokémon Sun instead gives around three days. Pokémon Sword reports another use for these fragments: the prettiest are kept as charms for a safe childbirth.
