CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Rockruff has shared human lives for a long time. It can sense its Trainer’s sadness and stay close, giving its loyalty a very concrete presence. This closeness does not erase a temperament that sometimes becomes rougher as it grows. Affection and training advance together: the warm companion retains its impulses, bites and energy that need to be understood.

A detail worth noticing

Rockruff can show affection in a painful way. In Ultra Moon, it rubs the sharp stones around its neck against its Trainer. The gesture expresses attachment, but those stones can hurt. This is a habit of the species, distinct from an attack effect printed on a card.
