CARDEX BACKGROUND

The Pokémon’s story

Vibrava vibrates its wings to produce ultrasound powerful enough to cause headaches or stun prey. It can then bury the prey in sand and store it before dissolving it with acid to feed. The Pokédex links this intensive hunting to the growth of its wings. Its Trainer must even protect their ears nearby. Its wings' vibrations thus precede capture, and sand then lets it keep the prey it will eat.

Background on the species in the video games; its forms and card versions may have appeared later.

A detail worth noticing

Pokémon Ultra Moon advises Vibrava's Trainer to protect their eardrums when its wings beat. Pokémon Ultra Sun describes its ultrasound stunning prey before it buries them in sand. The signal that bothers humans is a specific stage in its hunting.
